The association Miljövännerna på Våtskär rf was founded in the autumn of 2025 for several reasons: we needed a legal entity to communicate with authorities regarding urgent projects, we wanted to organize ourselves to jointly protect and care for the environment in our summer paradise, and we wanted to intensify social interactions among the area's summer neighbors.

In the statutes, we formulated it thus: “The association's purpose is to plan and implement measures related to the environment, waters, and marine care in the Våtskär archipelago. Additionally, the association's purpose is to promote and develop cooperation among summer residents, preserve the area's cultural heritage, and support the development of archipelago culture while enhancing the well-being of the area's inhabitants.”

We think we can achieve our goals through, for example:

• organizing parties, concerts, exhibitions, or other events
• participating in public debates on relevant topics
• collecting and disseminating information as well as conducting research activities
• gathering members for joint activities and maintaining contacts with other associations in the field
• making proposals, initiatives, and reports, as well as providing statements to other communities and authorities
• collaborating with authorities, organizations, companies, and private individuals
• planning and carrying out maintenance and marking of informal boat routes, shore care and restoration works, measures for the care of water bodies and fish stocks
• providing advice and guidance in the renovation and maintenance of traditional buildings, as well as the care of traditional landscapes and biotopes
• organizing joint events, volunteer workdays, and other activities that advance the association's purpose

The association is open to all who believe that the environment in the Våtskär archipelago is worth caring for and who would like to participate in our endeavors. Join us – you are heartily welcome!
